Step 2: Loading funds into your account

Funds will have to be loaded into your registered account with Prepaid24. These funds can be loaded via eft across all the various banks.

Prepaid24 will attempt to send your tokens to your cell phone (number used in the registration) within the shortest possible time. Punch the token number that you will receive from Prepaid24 into your meter to recharge your electricity. Most transactions take less than 15 minutes. Since Prepaid24 is reliant on other 3rd parties like municipalities and service providers, Prepaid24 cannot guarantee a set recharge time.

How to redeem a UniPIN voucher:

UniPIN is a voucher that is bought from a vendor by you the consumer and is then redeemed for the full amount of the voucher for a prepaid electricity token.

The voucher is redeemed using the your cell phone at a time and place convenient to you.

  1. At a time convenient to the you, all you need to do is send a USSD request following the instructions on the UniPIN Voucher.
  2. The USSD message is sent to the short code and upon receipt of the message, the UniPIN Manager works out which utility you belongs to, displays a pre vend in the case of arrears collection and collects the 20 digit Prepaid Electricity token number from the relevant utility.
  3. You then enter this number into the keypad on the prepaid meter in your home and the credit is registered as per standard Numeric STS meters.
  4. Should the key entry of the 20 digit Prepaid Electricity token fail, or yield an error message, Cigicell provides a 24 hour support desk which is made available to assist consumers with their vending queries.

Instruction on how to redeem a UniPIN voucher. Once a voucher has been purchased from a vendor or a retailer, all you need to do is following the following easy steps.

  1. Look for your 9 digit pin number on the voucher:
  2. On your cellphone, dial *120*41589*PIN*MeterNumber# and now press "Call"/Dial" (Remember, your 9 digit PIN number is the PIN number on the UniPIN slip. Your meter number the 11 digit meter number on your Meter Card, or the number you usually use when buying prepaid electricity for your home)
  3. A Message will display informing you that you request will be processed and your token will be sent to you via sms.
  4. Your will receive a token via SMS that will display your 20 digit token number. This number is entered into your meter box to increase your electricity units.


IMPORTANT:

  1. You must always ensure that when you redeem you UniPIN, that you use the correct meter number. Once a UniPIN has been redeemed, the sale is final and the token generated will be for the meter number the request was sent through. Meter numbers that we incorrectly submitted cannot be reversed or refunded.
  2. Please note that should you submit a request for a Tshwane meter, before the token is processed, UniPIN will inform you if there are any arrears due on your Tshwane municipal account. You will have the option to continue and accept the charges which will be deducted from your UniPIN purchases, or you have the option to decline the transaction in order for you to consult the Tshwane municipality
  3. The purchase limit for Eskom meters are a maximum of R500.00
  4. Should there be any service charges allocated to your meter, note that this will automatically be deducted from your UniPIN purchase and that this charge is deducted by the supplier and not by UniPIN.

Prepaid meter purchases

You may purchase prepaid vouchers over the counter at any EasyPay outlet nationwide. EasyPay offers consumers the facility to purchase prepaid electricity at conveniently located pay-points nationwide. Please remember to ensure that you take your prepaid meter card to the shop or write your 11-digit meter number on a piece of paper. The shop assistant will generate your token on the system and print your 20-digit token number at the bottom of your receipt. This 20 digit number need to be punched into your meter keypad.

If, during a routine inspection your meter is found tampered with, a R1 500,00 fine is payable to cover for traveling, labour and replacement costs prior to re-connection of your power supply.

  FAXES AND E-MAILS SENT TO UPLOAD CREDIT:

Please note that Faxes and E-mails sent to upload new credit are manually verified and processed THE SAME DAY. Offivce hours are from Monday to Thursday between 08h00 - 16h00, Fridays between 08h00 - 13h00 and on Saturdays, no phones will be answered, but credit requests will still be processed between 09h00 - 13h00. Credit requests received after these times will be processed the following working day. After hours prepaid voucher requests as well as emergency low credit voucher requests shall carry a R15 after hours penalty fee.

Credit tokens (encripted 20-digit number) sent to your cellphone can only be used once and cannot be used for any meter other than the one for which it was requested.

SAME DAY SERVICE:

If you sent your credit request during office hours and by 17:00 that same day, you still haven't receive your voucher SMS from us - please send us a notification SMS to 082 - 419 4757 (standard SMS network rates will apply).

Yes, at FLASH we use world class security standards to ensure that your money is safe. We have different levels of security – with the MyFLASH app you need to log in with the PIN that you created. This prevents anyone who has your phone from using your FLASH balance and making payments – only you should know your PIN.

Q11.   Is my FLASH balance safe if my phone is stolen?

Don't worry your FLASH balance is safe – even if someone has your phone they will not be able to open your MyFLASH app because they don't know your unique FLASH PIN. When you get a new phone you will be able to download the MyFLASH app onto your new phone and log in with your FLASH username and password. Your FLASH balance will be available and you will be able to make payments and transact in the MyFLASH app like before.

Step 1:  Insert your ATM card Step 2:  Key in your pin number Step 3:  The ATM will request that you wait as it confirms your details
Step 4:  Choose more options Step 5:  Select "Buy It/ Pay It" Step 6:  Choose "Buy Electricity Prepaid"
Step 7:  It will give you two options: "[Buy Electricity Prepaid / Reprint Last Purchase Receipt]" Step 8:  Press "Proceed" or "Enter" to accept the Terms and Conditions Step 9:  Key in the meter number that you want to buy electricity for and then press "Proceed"
Step 10:  The ATM will ask you whether you agree that the meter number is correct Step 11:  Key in the amount of electricity that you want to purchase Step 12:  The ATM will request that you please wait as it confirms your details
Step 13:  Select the account you want your money to be taken from Step 14:  Check that your details are correct and confirm by selecting "Proceed" IMPORTANT:
